FALL 2021 CAMPUS REOPENING PLAN

*posted 8/9/21COVID-19 CAMPUS DASHBOARD

Dear Neumann Community,

We have all been through a difficult and challenging experience during the past 17 months. Our students, faculty, and staff are eager to re-establish our vibrant campus life with in-person classes and activities this fall, even as we take steps to protect everyone from the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus.

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our campus community, and to ensure that everyone on our campus remains healthy, we must do our part. Our Catholic Mission in the Franciscan Tradition asks us to respond with compassion and to embrace that deep sense of reverence and care for each person. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) has found that the three COVID-19 vaccines authorized and recommended in the United States are highly effective at preventing individuals from contracting COVID-19 and may also prevent virus transmission to others. With that evidence in mind, Neumann University will require all students who will be on campus (including residents and commuters) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to coming to campus in the fall. The vaccine will also be required of all faculty and employees. Exceptions to this policy will be permitted only as explained below and in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Students are required to submit a photo of their COVID-19 vaccination card, using our new Magnus Health SMR (Student Medical Record) system. During the week of July 26, students received an email from service@magnushealthportal.com to create a password. Students can then take a photo of their vaccination card with their phone and upload it directly to their account in Magnus. Faculty and staff are required to complete an Employee/Faculty Vaccination Form

Students, faculty, and staff who believe they cannot get a COVID-19 vaccine for medical reasons, religious beliefs, or on the basis of a strong moral or ethical conviction similar to a religious belief must complete a Vaccination Exemption Form for Students or Vaccination Exemption Form for Employees/Faculty. Students should submit their Vaccination Exemption Forms to Student Health Services at cellaf@neumann.edu

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and commitment to our RISES values. Our respect for one another will keep the Neumann community as safe as possible and allow us to return to a more normal fall semester. Please continue to check the COVID-19 website for updates to our plans for the fall. Neumann will continue to follow the guidance and recommendations of both state and federal agencies.

I look forward to seeing each of you in the fall and wish you a healthy, happy summer.
